Prologue
(Dictated by the Pets)
We the orphaned, abandoned, unadoptable, and even the abused have found a safe haven and loving home for the rest of our lives.
The Little Woman Home for Animals is located in the beautiful piney woods of East Texas.
Dr. Carlos Arreola established the sanctuary in 1999 as a home for donkeys evicted from the Grand Canyon. The rest of us joined the donkeys soon after the sanctuary opened its doors.
We are fortunate to have all our needs met in this no-kill, non-profit sanctuary. The facility has temperature-controlled housing, a clinic, a beautiful pond, enchanting woods, and a peaceful cemetery. Plans for our own art gallery and gift shop are in progress.
Dr. Arreola is our caregiver and hero. He is a retired Veterans Administration Counselor and Vietnam Combat-Wounded-Veteran. After Vietnam, he continued to serve mankind by rescuing animals and wildlife. The name "Little Woman" came from a precious Chihuahua rescued over 35 years ago from an abusive situation.
Our lives would not be blessed without your donations and loving kindness. We greatly appreciate your generosity and invite you to visit us in our home. Please call first, so we can make the necessary arrangements for the gate to be opened.
Sincerely,

The Residents, All 200 +
